Egypt completes budget, gov't accounting law


(MENAFN) Egypt was declared to have concluded its draft unified bill for the general budget and government accounting, preparing to make it reach the cabinet and parliament.

The draft law is presenting a "program performance" budget, contributing in reducing public spending and reinforcing accounting and accountability, Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maaet assured.

Minister Maaet further noted: "in addition, it helps outline the budget for better financial planning and put a future vision for financial performance of the state's administrative institutions."

Maaet further added that the law was drafted while keeping in mind digital transformation as well as current financial legislation among other factors
