Qatar- Nama event stresses value of education on Youth Day

The Social Development Center ‘Nama' organised a number of youth-centred training courses, yesterday to mark the International Youth Day,  under the theme ‘Transforming Education.' 

The event was held in cooperation with the Barzan Girls Center and the Barzan Youth Center and included workshops as well as training courses that shed light on the importance of education, international best practices and challenges facing young people in the field of education. 

The workshops were led by a number of Nama trainers in collaboration with the Barzan Girls Center and the Barzan Youth Center. This is another testament of Nama's continuous efforts to provide safe spaces for young people, embrace them, discover their creative abilities, and provide them with the necessary support in various fields.

Hamad Al Marri, Acting Manager of Communication and Media office at Nama Center, said that in line with this year's theme, ‘Transforming Education,' adopted by the United Nations, the Center is attaching great importance to educational and training programmes and workshops offered by the Center to the youth in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

In this context, Al Marri underlined the Center's achievements with respect to developing the capacities of young people and capitalizing on their abilities. He noted that the Center has been contributing since 2017 in the empowerment of young people in Qatar in line with the aspirations of Qatar, and its wise leadership, through a number of successful programmes designed to prepare our youth to lead the future and maintain the development process. During this period, the Center has launched a distinctive set of programs, activities and initiatives, which have had widely and positively influenced the community. 

The list of programmes, activities and campaigns organised by the Center in the framework of the significant role it plays in empowering and developing young people included: 

The ‘Reyada' Award, which recently launched its fifth edition, that targets Qatari entrepreneurs owners of small and micro enterprises. In addition to the ‘Sama Nama' program for the development of social entrepreneurs, which is celebrating the graduation of its third cohort next December. The programme aims to develop the abilities of young people and invest their energies through a variety of activities that have been carefully chosen to suit their needs and motivate them to compete positively.
