Doha: Qatar University ranked 276 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings for world universities in 2020, becoming one of the most improved universities in the rankings, and progressing with 56 positions from the 2019 ranking.
HE President of Qatar University Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham said that Qatar University has made an amazing leap in the university rankings, and everyone is proud because it reflects the success of the University's policies and strategy. HE Al Derham stressed the University's commitment to its leadership role in higher education in the country and its enlightenment role in the local community, by providing the highest level of opportunities for students, faculty and society.
HE Dr Al Derham pointed out that in 2017, Qatar University launched a five-year strategy for the years 2018-2022, which defined ways to achieve continuous excellence in performance and construction in the main areas of education, research, institution and participation, taking into account the plans and aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Qatar University Dr Darwish Al Emadi
said for his part that Qatar University is very proud of the advanced position in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings, which reaffirms that Qatar University is a leading national university model in education striving to achieve educational excellence.
Al Emadi added that in a relatively short period of time, the University was able to obtain international recognition for its undergraduate and graduate programs and witnessed remarkable progress in scientific research published in the most prestigious scientific journals linked to national priorities.
