Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties celebrates successful ninth Women Build season


(MENAFN- PRLog) Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties celebrated the successful completion of its ninth Women Build season with a Thank You Party hosted at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs. During the 2019 Women Build season, more than 332 volunteers contributed 1,872 hours to complete two new Habitat houses for two single moms, each with five children. Women Build fundraising teams, individual donors and local companies raised over $243,000 to fund the construction costs of the homes.
Habitat for Humanity's Women Build is a national initiative to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. By recruiting, educating and inspiring women to build, they can transform lives in their communities. Since 2011, Women Build in Lee and Hendry counties has partnered with 20 families to build strength and stability for 51 children and their parents through local fundraising and volunteer efforts.
