Gunmen kill Yemeni security officer, wound another in Taiz


(MENAFN) On Friday, Unknown gangsters opened fire during an ambush and murdered a Yemeni security officer in the southwestern province of Taiz, a government official informed Xinhua.

The government source who asked to remain nameless emphasized that a group of unknown gangsters ambushed a security patrol in Wadi Madam area in the southeastern part of Taiz province, around 256 km south of the country's capital Sanaa.

He affirmed that the equipped attack resulted in the murder of a senior security officer identified as Mahmoud Humaidi, and the wound of other security personnel in the area.

The source added that the patrol was returning from a security mission when the attack happened, indicating that the gangsters managed to escape the area.
