(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, April 10 (KUNA) -- Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Parliamentary caucus MP Rakan Al-Nisf said Wednesday that the 140th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference discussed several topics and issues of concern to various peoples and countries of the world.
In a press statement on the sidelines of the conference, which concludes in the capital Doha today, Al-Nisf said that discussing various issues in the General Assembly and the main committees and sub-committees as well as the adoption of decisions is in the interest of all parliaments.
He praised Qatar's hosting of the 140th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the organization efforts, saying it is a historic precedent for an Arab country to host the IPU conference.
He congratulated MP Omar Al-Tabtabae on the occasion of his nomination by the Arab Group for membership of the forum of young parliamentarians in the Union for the second time.(end).
