About 60 passengers die in Ghana bus crash


(MENAFN) At least 60 people have died in a head-on crash between two passenger buses on a highway in Ghana.

According to Kintampo Municipal fire commander, it took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the resulting fire.

Several survivors from the crash, which occurred in Ampoma town in Ghana's Bono East Region, were transported to nearby hospitals.

Such road accidents occur often in Ghana, as well as other African countries, usually due to high speeds, technical problems with vehicles and poor road conditions.
