Isolated, moderate rains in Muscat and other parts of Oman: Met department

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Several parts of Oman including Muscat are likely to receive isolated moderate rains in the next 24 hours. However, the northern part of the country is likely to receive heavy rains. This is due to the trough of low pressure over the region.
An official from the Directorate General of Meteorology said, 'Rainfall during this season is usual and is a sign of winter fading away.'

The official added that Musandam and other governorates too are likely to receive moderate to heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday.

'Rain is likely to reduce the temperature by around two degrees. The sea will be rough during these days and so fishermen and sailors have been warned against venturing out,' the official said. According to the Met department, several places in the country received rainfall on Sunday. The highest was recorded in Buraimi (5.22mm) followed by Mahdah (4mm), Khabourah (2.6mm), Madha (2.4mm), Shinas (2.4mm), Liwa (1.8mm), Dibba (1.4mm), Sohar (1.2mm) and Khasab airport (1mm).
