14 Tunisians kidnapped by Libyan group


(MENAFN) A Libyan group kidnapped fourteen Tunisian employees in the war-torn country on Thursday after a Libyan was detained in Tunisia, media reports unveiled.

In a statement, Tunisia's Foreign Ministry assured "we are following the situation of Tunisian workers abducted by gunmen on the outskirts of the city of Zawiya."

Meanwhile, the statement affirmed, Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis al-Jahnawi is in talks with his Libyan counterpart "to ensure the safety of the abductees and accelerate their release."

Tunisian Consulate in Tripoli has also entered negotiations with Libyan officials for this crisis to come to an end "without delay".
