Doha: The Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, inaugurated yesterday a medical clinic for staff at its headquarters in Al Dafna.
The clinic is equipped with the latest medical equipment, medicines and medical staff in a bid to ensure the health of employees. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and a number of senior officials of the Ministry.
'The medical clinic aims at creating a healthy working environment, providing all occupational health and safety requirements for the Ministry's employees, said Mohammed Malfi Al Hajri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Joint Services Affairs.
He said that the clinic will provide all health care services in accordance with recognised health and safety standards, and deal with emergency cases and work accidents. 'The clinic was opened following a survey conducted by the Ministry to assess the need of such a facility, said Al Hajri. The medical clinic will save the time and effort of the Ministry's employees and minimises waste of working hours, providing health care services, including measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, sugar, oxygen level, weight and height measurement, said M Mohammed Abdullah Al Maraghi, Director of the Health and Safety Department at the Ministry.
He said that the clinic will provide first aid services for emergency cases like asthma, respiratory disorders, work injuries, and other things which employees need at work place without going to hospitals or health centers.
The medical clinic is opened within the framework of the ministry's supportive directions for the employees in various fields and in preparation for the country's sports day celebrations.
The clinic consists of two separate clinics for men and women. Each clinic has complete medical staff holding licenses from Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, latest medical equipment and enough rooms to accommodate the visitors.
