Syria: car bomb blast kills 1, wounds 4 in Latakia

(MENAFN) On Sunday, a car bomb was exploded in the Sahat al-Hamam district of Syria's Latakia, according to state media.

Wounds were reported as footage carried on the state-run al-Ikhbariya news channel presented a large group of people milling around in a street while wreckage smouldered on the ground.

State news agency SANA reported that the driver of the vehicle, a Suzuki minivan, had been murdered in the blast, and that four other people had been injured.

It reported that the authorities had dismantled another explosive device in the same site before the explosion in the vehicle.
