2019 Wagon R may not offer Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Maruti Suzuki's all-new Wagon R, set to launch on January 23, is currently available for pre-ordering.
And just days ahead of the unveiling, the automaker has teased the interiors of the car to reveal a revamped cabin, new dashboard, and touchscreen infotainment system.
However, the updated hatchback is unlikely to offer the in-trend Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.

Interiors
As per the teasers, the upcoming Wagon R will feature dual-tone interiors with a black-beige theme, a center-positioned touchscreen infotainment system, dual glovebox and vertical AC vents with silver accents.
The "SmartPlay Studio" infotainment system is likely to support USB, AUX-IN, Bluetooth, and navigation.
However, it may not get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, given the company has not highlighted these popular connectivity features.
2019 Wagon R offers more space, appealing exteriors
Design
The next-gen Wagon R will come with the same tall-boy design but with a bunch of tweaks and, most importantly, more space.
It will be 143mm wider than the current model and will pack a revamped look with a bolder grille, larger headlamps, and vertical taillights.
The whole thing, as Maruti says, will be built on 5th-gen Heartect platform for impact absorption and safety.
The new Wagon R will offer more power, higher mileage
Engine
Maruti is making some major changes under the hood of Wagon R.
The 2019 model will come with a 1.2-liter K-Series engine, offering 83PS of power, 113Nm of torque, and enhanced fuel efficiency.
There will also be a 1-liter version, which would offer 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque.
Notably, both engines will come with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission options.
Expected price of the 2019 Wagon R
Pricing
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R sits in a heavily competitive segment of the automotive market.
As such, the upcoming model is expected to be priced around Rs. 4-5 lakh, matching the likes of Hyundai Santro, Datsun Go, and Tata Tiago.
It will come in 6 color options: Pearl Poolside Blue, Pearl Nutmeg Brown, Magma Grey, Pearl Autumn Orange, Silky Silver, and Superior White.
