#IndiaInAustralia: Kohli more excited than nervous about lively Perth pitch
13 Dec 2018

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli seemed excited than being nervous about the fast and lively pitch at the new Optus Stadium in Perth, ahead of the second Test versus Australia to start from Friday.

India go into the Test match with a 1-0 advantage in the 4-match series.

The pitch is expected to assist the pacers and Kohli looks confident.

Here's more.

Kohli has backed his bowlers to do the job in the press conference on Thursday.

"We certainly get more excited than nervous looking at lively pitches now because we understand that we do have a bowling attack that can bowl the opposition out as much as they are confident about their attack".

He felt having pacers at full flow will help the side.

Both India and Australia will be counting on the fast bowlers to do the job for them on a pace-friendly pitch at Perth.

Aussies will look up to their premier pacer Mitchell Starc to lead the show.

For India, the management may be tempted to go in with 4 pacers.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar could be added to the starting line-up to add more depth.

"Obviously Australia is going to be a strong team in their home conditions and on a wicket like Perth, which probably offers you more than most other pitches in Australia. But we have an equal chance," said Kohli.
