Israeli forces wound Palestinian demonstrators Friday


(MENAFN) On Friday, dozens of Palestinians were wounded while taking part in continuing demonstrations along the Gaza-Israel buffer zone, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

In a statement, ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said that 40 demonstrators had been injured - containing three in serious condition - by Israeli forces deployed along the other side of the buffer zone.

Demonstrators asked for the right to return to their homes in historical Palestine, from which they were forces to leave in 1948 to make way for the new state of Israel.

They also request an end to Israel's 12-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has destroyed the seaside enclave's economy and deprived its over than two million residents of many basic commodities.
