(MENAFN) The Turkish coast guard declared that 10 illegal migrants have been uncounted for on Monday after their boat sank off Turkey's Aegean coast.
The coast guard added that two illegal migrants made it to the shore of Dikili district in Izmir province early in the morning, and informed about the incident.
It confirmed that the Turkish force has dispatched three boats and a helicopter to carry out a rescue mission.
The Aegean Sea was a common route for migrants escaping into Europe via Turkey.
