Afghanistan- Lack of ballot papers hamper voting process in some Daikundi districts


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) NELLI (Pajhwok): Some officials in central Daikundi province on Saturday said that malfunctioning of the biometric devices, unfamiliarity with the system and lack of ballot papers may deprived many residents from casting their vote and the issue needed to the resolved promptly.

Abdul Qadir Haidari, the district administrative chief of Meramour district, told Pajhwok Afghan News of the names of 400 voters out of total 900 did not existed in the voter list.

He said the problems existed in the voting polling stations of Tagab School, Hussinaia Qonqur and Hussinia Zagh Murda seriously.

He added in some areas the biometric system has not been working properly and added the process had been made more complicated the process instead of making it simple.

Yauqub Shafaq, the administrative chief of Shahrestan district, said the voting process began in the Ghaf polling centre three hours late because staff-member were not familiar with the use of biometric system.
