Jordan- Agriculture minister, Singaporean counterpart discuss cooperation

Amman, Oct 15 (Petra) - Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Ibrahim Shahahdeh, met with Singaporean Minister of Environment and Water Resources, Masagos Zulkifli, to discuss enhancing cooperation in the water, environment, and agricultural sectors as Jordan is a country with crops available the year-round.

During the meeting, Shahahdeh stressed the close relations between Jordan and Singapore in various political, economic, and technological fields.

He also underlined the importance of Jordan and Singapore maintaining a common stance on environmental issues and climate change in international forums "in a way that can best serve the two countries and lead to launching joint projects in the fields of biodiversity and climate change".

The government is currently working in coordination with representatives of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom to hold an exhibition of agricultural and industrial products in Singapore with the aim of reaching new markets, Shahahdeh added.

For his part, the Singaporean minister noted the strong ties between the two countries, calling for boosting bilateral trade in agricultural and technological fields.

He said his country can train Jordanians in the environmental and agricultural fields.
