Tashkent Transport Service (Toshshahartranshizmat) plans to purchase 120 SAZ LE 60 and MAN buses during the remaining three months of 2018, Uzbek media reported.

"In October 2018, 35 low-floor SAZ LE 60 buses, in November, 15 SAZ and 10 MAN buses, and in December, 30 SAZ and 30 MAN buses will be acquired," the Tashkent city administration said.

These buses should replace the 2008 Mercedes Benz Low Floor buses being decommissioned from Oct. 13.

Recently, there have been three cases of bus fires in the capital. In this regard, head of Toshshahartranshizmat Mohir Valiyev decided to stop the entire rolling stock of the 2008 Mercedes Benz Low Floor, starting from Oct. 13, 2018, in order to ensure safety of passenger traffic.

It is also planned to once again conduct a thorough analysis of the current situation with adoption of measures to identify buses to be repaired, as well as those responsible for the incidents and to recover the damage caused to the company from them.
