Saudi Royal Air Forces intercept Houthi ballistic missile targeting Jazan

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, June 10 (KUNA) -- Saudi Royal Air Forces have intercepted a missile fired by Houthi rebels, which targeted Jazan area but was destroyed before reaching its target, spokesman of Arab Coalition Forces Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen Col. Turki Al-Maliki said on Sunday.
Al-Maliki, said in a press statement, that around 20:09 local time, the Saudi Air forces monitored the missile coming from the Yemeni Saada area towards Saudi air space into Jazan area.
The spokesman added the missile was specifically targeting a civilian populated area, but air forces were able to destroy the missile before hitting its target thus no injuries were reported.
Al-Maliki noted that such aggression from the terrorist militia, which is supported by Iran, is another testament on the complicity of the Iranian regime that support Houthi militia in clear violation of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231. (end) mdm.mb
