Ukraine climbs to 17th place at Winter Olympics


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has climbed to 17th position at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang (South Korea) after freestyle skier Oleksandr Abramenko won the gold medal in the men's aerials, Ukrinform reports.

The medal table is topped by Norway (9 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze medals). Germany (9, 5, 4) is second, the Netherlands (6, 5, 2) third, Canada (5, 5, 6) fourth and the United States (5, 3, 2) fifth.

Ukraine shares 17th spot with Poland, which also has a gold medal.

In general, representatives of 26 out of 92 participating countries have already won medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
