Azerbaijan completing overhaul of oil tanker (PHOTO)

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC is completing overhaul of the oil tanker 'Islam Safarli' at the Zikh shipyard, the company said in a message.

Main engines and electric motors, pumps and other mechanisms of the tanker were overhauled, auxiliary engine was replaced with a new one, and the electrical equipment was adjusted during the overhaul, according to the message.

'General cleaning and welding in cargo warehouses and ballast tanks were also carried out,' the message said. 'Underwater and above-water parts and the deck of the vessel were painted.'

The tanker has already passed sea trial, and after the identified shortcomings are eliminated, the vessel will be returned to operation.

The length of the tanker 'Islam Safarli' is 125.06 meters, width - 16.63 meters, the maximum speed - 11.3 knots. It is used for transportation of liquid cargoes.

At present, there are 34 tankers in the fleet of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC.
