Yemeni President, UN Envoy Discuss Ways to Revive Peace Consultations

Aden, Safar 1, 1439, Oct 21, 2017, SPA -- Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi met here today with the UN Secretary-General's envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed, according to the Yemeni official news agency, topics related to peace prospects and available or possible opportunities.
The Yemeni president reiterated the support of his administration for A peace based on the three points of references: the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue and the relevant UN resolutions, foremost of which is resolution no: 2216.
He pointed out that the putschists do not care about suffering of the Yemeni people and exploiting it as much as possible as a pretext to continue their war and their recruitment of children from schools and pay them, as a fuel for their enterprise, implementation of their agendas and the extraneous priestly sectarianism.
The UN envoy, for his part, supported efforts exerted by the international community to achieve peace, in accordance with the three reference points, pointing out to a number of ideas to build on, for continuation of the peace process and further dialogue, naming the latest of which is Kuwait-based consultations.
