Dr. Van Erve makes a difference in the lives of his patients by providing them with the right amount of attention, letting them feel at ease, and relieving their afflictions as much as possible without the threat of impending operations. He attributes his great success to treating his patients as a whole person, not just their symptoms. When he is not assisting his patients, Dr. Van Erve enjoys horseback riding.
