UAE Ambassador meets Principal Secretary to Prime Minister of India

NEW DELHI, 18th May, 2017 (WAM) -- Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of India, met Nripendra Misra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at the Prime Minister's Office in new Delhi.

Al Banna extended his gratitude to Misra for his support and continued co-operation of the Government of India.

They held intensified discussions on various issues of bilateral relations. Al Banna and Misra also tackled a number of issues of mutual interest, including the need for urgent implementation of all agreed projects.

The UAE official said that India is a global leader in economic and government reformation and other fields, such as education and technology, which have had a positive impact on improving the lives of citizens. It contributes to promoting the Indian model of tolerance, co-existence and innovation, he added.

They also reviewed ways to carry out the decisions taken during the high-level visits between the two countries, intensive interaction at the highest political levels, regular meetings on the important bilateral mechanisms and the continuation of official visits between the two sides to take part in various summits. They stressed that these procedures reflect the priority that India attaches to strengthening relations and co-operation with the UAE Government and its people.

The two parties expressed their readiness to continue strengthening co-operation by supporting developmental priorities and approaches adopted by the two countries.

The UAE envoy expressed his satisfaction at the distinguished joint ties between the two countries, which is deemed a global role model. This includes trade co-operation and the cultural communication that enhances bonds in various fields between the two countries.
