Oman- Octal organises mock fire and emergency response drill


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Octal hosted a mock fire and emergency drill at its Salalah facility as part of a Civil Defence Plan organised by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) and Octal's Emergency Response Team.

The PET manufacturer was specifically chosen by emergency services in Oman's southernmost governorate due to its noteworthy track record of health, safety, and environmental excellence.

Mohammed al Aamri, Health, Safety, Security and Environment manager at Octal, said, 'We are extremely pleased with the successful outcome of the mock fire and emergency response drill. Octal will continue to work closely with concerned authorities in the region in order to maintain the highest standards of safety and emergency response readiness.'

The event was held in partnership with the Raysut Joint Emergency Team (RJET) comprising eight members, i.e. the Port of Salalah, MENA Group, Salalah Methanol Company, BP Oman, Dunes Oman and Orpic. Officials from the Ministry of Health and the Royal Army of Oman were also present as part of the Dhofar Emergency Committee.

The mock drill which included rescue operations, fire response and evacuation was performed successfully.
