Jordan- Sudanese over 50 can obtain medical treatment visas, Minister

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb 26 (Petra) –– Sudanese nationals over the age of 50 can obtain medical treatment visas at border posts along with a maximum of two companions each, under the condition they carry a sum no less than $5,000, according to Minister of Interior Ghaleb Al Zu'bi.

He said in a press statement that the decision, being implemented upon a directive by Prime Minister Hani Mulki, is part of the government's measures to promote healthcare travel and remove barriers facing the sector as a mainstay of the national economy.

The government is forging ahead with measures to remove impediments to vital medical and other economic and investment stimulating sectors in the Kingdom and optimize the benefit from skilled Jordanian manpower.

Jordan today became a magnet for healthcare travel due to a set of factors that turned it into a distinguished healthcare destination, including a world-class hospital and medical infrastructure, skilled manpower and security and stability.

Previous regulations affecting Sudanese nationals under fifty, who wish to come to Jordan for medical treatment, remain valid as they need to obtain a visa from the Jordanian embassy in Khartoum upon a letter from the Sudanese government clarifying the purpose of the visit.
