Shop Qatar records sales of over QR9.8m in third week

Over 49,000 vouchers were entered into the third weekly raffle draw held last Thursday at Mall of Qatar which gave away QR810,000 to 15 lucky winners.

Overall, QR2.43m in prizes have already been won by people visiting the event during the three raffle draws.

Visitors and residents still have ten days to shop and dine at participating outlets before one lucky customer becomes a millionaire to be revealed at the grand raffle draw on February 7.

The third weekend was another entertainment-filled one with concerts staged for all kinds of music lovers.

Emirati singing sensation popularly known as 'Goodwill Ambassador At Large Dr. Hussain Al Jassmi serenaded fans at a concert held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on Friday.

The concert also saw the performance of Qatari rising star Dana Al Fardan.

Siwar youth choir, a prominent cultural initiative by Al Jazeera Children's Channel, enthralled hundreds in the audience at free concerts held on Friday and yesterday at the Mall of Qatar.

They performed legendary classics from a rich repertoire of Arabic, English and French pieces, which included popular songs by Lebanese diva Fairouz.

In its final week, Shop Qatar will offer people various options, from fashion to music to theatre to outdoor entertainment for the whole family. These activities and events will be spread across participating malls as well as the QNCC and the Sheraton Doha Park.

A live free make-up tutorial and consultation with beauty and luxury experts from Guerlain will be held at the Guerlain counter in the Salam Showroom at The Gate Mall on Wednesday and Thursday between 11am and 6pm and on Friday at 4pm.

The Lagoona Mall's stunning water themed Piazza will be the venue for an outdoor fashion show to be held on Thursday evening to showcase over a hundred creations by 15 Qatari and international fashion designers.

Fireworks display and food trucks will be coming back this from Thursday to Saturday at the Sheraton Doha Park to offer visitors food and entertainment while enjoying the cool weather outdoors.

The QNCC is hosting a series of live shows including the famous original Broadway production of the musical Cats from Wednesday to Saturday and the Doha Comedy Festival from Thursday to Friday featuring 15 comedians from nine countries.
