US denies plans for talks with Syrian top diplomat
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON May 5 (KUNA) -- Media reports hinting the possibility of a meeting between US State Secretary John Kerry and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem are "not true" a US official said on Tuesday.
However State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the US would "redouble" its efforts on influencing certain opposition groups to uphold any probable reinstated ceasefire just as Russia would on the Syrian regime. (pickup previous) sd.gb
