a motorist who performed stunt driving to express his joy over the wedding of his relative has been arrested.

the abu dhabi public prosecution has also charged him with noisy driving and fixing posters on his vehicle without permission.
the incident happened during a wedding ceremony when the motorist performed stunts while driving in a residential area to “express his joy and extend congratulations to the bride and the groom” in his own way.
on interrogation he admitted to all the charges. he said he had put up posters and graffiti on his vehicle for the same reason.
he also admitted to fixing a speed booster and making significant changes so that there would be a loud noise when he was driving.
since january 245 people have been charged with driving recklessly. they were given tough punishments which ranged from being sentenced to prison fined and having their driving licences confiscated.
expressing joy through dangerous manoeuvrings which pose a threat to the public is a criminal offence. the authorities have urged families to keep an eye on children to prevent them from committing such crimes.
