32 people die in Russian cargo plane crash


(MENAFN) Russia's Defense Ministry declared that a Russian cargo aircraft fell in Syria, leaving all the 32 passengers dead.

The An-26 manufactured jet smashed in the attempt to reach Khmeimim Air Base, in the Syrian coastal city of Latakia.

The plane, which had 26 passengers and six staff member abroad, was 1,600 feet away from the runway.

The military confirmed that prior reports showed that the reason behind the bloody crash was a technical mistake.
