Her professional career spans fifteen years in financial services, providing budget analytics, followed by public service roles, including Board Administrator for Saint Paul Public Schools and Policy Director in Mayor Melvin Carter's administration. In the legislature, she has held numerous leadership roles, including Majority Whip and Speaker Pro Tempore, and co-chaired the House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee.

Her campaign is centered on four main priorities:
