(MENAFN) Hamas declared on Sunday that it has not received any fresh ceasefire proposals from mediators in the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.

In an official press release, Hamas stated that negotiations have effectively stalled following "the failed assassination attempt on Sept. 9 in the Qatari capital, Doha," referencing the Israeli strike on its Doha office that caused casualties, including a Qatari security officer.

The group emphasized its readiness to "consider any proposals presented by the mediators 'positively and responsibly,' in a manner that preserves the national rights of the Palestinian people."

This statement counters international media reports detailing a new ceasefire plan reportedly put forth by U.S. President Donald Trump, which outlines 21 points aimed at ending the Gaza war.

According to these reports, the plan demands Hamas surrender all hostages—both alive and deceased—within 48 hours. It also calls for a phased Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, the release of hundreds of Palestinian security prisoners by Israel, and the facilitation of humanitarian aid into the territory. The proposal further suggests establishing an interim technocratic Palestinian government to oversee Gaza, explicitly excluding Hamas from governance.
