Erdogan to bring attention to climate change in NY summit

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to participate in a climate-focused summit on Wednesday at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The gathering, organized by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, aims to provide a forum for global leaders attending the 80th General Assembly session to unveil their updated national strategies on climate action and explore opportunities offered by the emerging clean energy transition, as stated by reports.

The summit will emphasize the importance of demonstrating commitment and expediting efforts to safeguard both humanity and the environment, in alignment with the objectives outlined in the Paris Agreement.

This event precedes the 30th UN Climate Conference (COP30), set to occur from November 10 to 21 in Belem, Brazil, according to available reports.
