Doha: As Qatar continues to grapple with a sandstorm that has heralded poor visibility and dusty weather conditions across the country, several Ministries and Departments issued precautions to ensure safety during this period.
Below is a list of guidelines on what to do and what not to do during sandstorms.
1. Ensure that all doors and windows are closed tightly to prevent dust from entering
2. When going out, wear a protective mask or use wet tissues to cover your nose and mouth. Don't forget to change the mask or tissues regularly.
3. Wash your face, nose, and mouth to prevent dust and sand from reaching the lungs.

4. Stay at home unless necessary, especially elderly and asthmatic individuals.

6. When going out, wear protective glasses to prevent dust and sand from reaching your eyes.
7. Visit the emergency department at the nearest hospital if you are experiencing severe difficulty in breathing.
8. Clean the house properly after sandstorms.
9. Constantly check the weather forecast.
