Head Of Zelensky's Office To U.S. Senators: We Need To Completely Block Russia's Access To Resources Feeding War

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak addressed U.S. senators during a visit to Washington, emphasizing that Ukraine did not start this war, but it must end it.

Yermak reported this on Telegram , Ukrinform saw.

"I had the honor to address U.S. senators and tell them about our country, which always keeps its word. And that we will always respond to a blow with a blow. At one time, we gave Russia strategic bombers because we wanted peace and guarantees. But Russia used them against us, attacking our people. Now part of their strategic aviation has been destroyed in a retaliatory move," he said.

Yermak emphasized that Ukraine did not start this war, but it must end it.

"A just peace is possible only when the weapons fall silent. We agreed to a 30-day ceasefire without any preconditions. Russia refused. And this shows Moscow's true intentions. The statements by Putin, Medvedev, and Medinsky are not about peace. They are about threats and war. Russia wants to stall for time and prepare for new attacks," he noted.

At the same time, the head of the Presidential Office stressed that Ukraine is holding on, and with the necessary support it will be able to turn the tables.

"We are grateful to the US for every Javelin, every Patriot, Himars, and sanctions. We are grateful for all the support. We need justice. If Russia is not stopped now, other dictators will draw conclusions. If we stop it, the allies will become stronger. And the world will become safer. We need to completely block Russia's access to resources for waging this war," he said.

Yermak added that tougher energy restrictions make sense, as well as sanctions that will close for Russia all ways to circumvent them.

"The upcoming bipartisan bill is a powerful step in this direction. And Moscow must pay for what it has destroyed. $300 billion in frozen Russian assets is a fair source for the Ukraine reconstruction," he noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak in Washington discussed with U.S. Secretary of State and Acting National Security Advisor Marco Rubio the Ukraine-Russia negotiations in Istanbul and the POW exchange.
