Delays In Arbab Niaz Stadium Renovation Push Costs Up By Rs 1 Billion


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The renovation and reconstruction of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium have faced significant delays, which have caused project costs to surge by Rs 1 billion, according to a summary sent by the KP Sports Department to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Official documents reveal that the project began in 2018 with an estimated cost of Rs 1.37 billion. However, after seven years, it remains incomplete, leading to cost escalations.

The estimated cost had risen to Rs 1.94 billion by 2021, and it increased further last year. In 2024, it reached Rs 2.31 billion, marking the third cost revision.

Meanwhile, the KP government has officially decided to rename Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium as Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, a move recently approved by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
