Palestinian media reports Israeli occupation forces demolished entire residential square in Jenin

(MENAFN) Palestinian media reported that on Sunday, Israeli Occupation forces demolished an entire residential square in the Jenin refugee camp, located in the northern West Bank. This action comes as the Israeli military announced plans to expand its operations in the northern West Bank to include five additional villages. The army claimed to have killed over 50 "terrorists" and arrested more than 110 individuals since the start of the operation.

As part of what it described as an operation to "thwart terrorism" in the region, the Israeli forces detonated explosives to destroy 20 buildings in the Al-Damj neighborhood of the Jenin refugee camp. Local sources indicated that the occupation forces had brought large shipments of explosives into the camp, forcing residents to flee in recent days.

Al-Damj has long been known for its resistance to Israeli occupation, with a history of confrontation dating back to the 1987 stone uprising and the April 2002 invasion of the Jenin camp. The bombing operation affected several neighborhoods in Jenin, including Al-Hawashin, the area behind Al-Asir Mosque, and Mihoub Street.

This demolition is part of an ongoing operation that is entering its 13th consecutive day. Israeli forces continue to bulldoze houses, construct new roads inside the camp, and convert numerous homes into military barracks, with a large military presence deployed throughout the entire Jenin area.
