Nations plan to enter AI race between China, US
(MENAFN) Nations are predicted to enter the artificial intelligence (AI) race between US and China, particularly following the launch of the Chinses AI app, DeepSeek.
China’s effort to be part of the AI conflict against US elevated the competition to a higher level.
DeepSeek R1, a platform that focuses on reasoning and is free and open-source Large Language Model (LLM), stunned the tech world with its release, competing with US-based OpenAI's ChatGPT and its latest model, the o1, which is priced at USD200 per month with usage restrictions.
After DeepSeek, Chinese company Alibaba unleashed Qwen 2.5 LLM, elevating the AI conflict with US.
As a reaction, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on X that ChatGPT’s future o3-mini model will be provided at no cost in the free tier. The o1-mini model is also provided at no cost. However, it allows only five queries each day. The o3-mini model will grant 100 queries each day with USD20 each month Plus tier subscription.
