Ukraine's Forces Down Over 2,300 Russian Drones, Missiles In January


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In January 2025, Ukraine's Defense Forces shot down 2,219 drones of various types and 45 missiles launched by Russia against Ukrainian territory.

That is according to a Telegram update from the Ukrainian Air Force, as cited by Ukrinform.

The air defense forces successfully intercepted 31 Kh-101, Kalibr, and Iskander-K cruise missiles, two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and 12 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles.

Additionally, the Ukrainian forces destroyed 1,595 Shahed-type kamikaze drones, 388 reconnaissance UAVs, and 236 other types of drones.

Throughout January, Ukrainian tactical aviation conducted over 220 sorties for air reconnaissance, fighter cover, strike missions, and air support for ground units. Of these, 77 were strike missions and 79 were fighter escort operations.

In total, Ukrainian aviation destroyed 215 aerial targets and struck enemy command posts, UAV control centers, and troop and equipment concentrations.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, between 21:00 on February 1 and 9:00 on February 2, the Ukrainian forces shot down 40 Russian Shahed-type strike drones and other UAVs, while 13 additional drones were lost due to electronic warfare interference.
