(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The United States this week transported about 90 Patriot interceptor missiles from a warehouse in Israel to Poland for further delivery to Ukraine.
This was reported by Axios with reference to its sources, Ukrinform saw.
It is noted that this is the largest shipment of arms from Israel to Ukraine since the outset of the large-scale invasion by Russia.
Recently, U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft arrived from southern Israel to Poland's Rzeszow, a hub for transferring weapons to Ukraine.
Sources claim about 90 Patriot interceptor missiles were forwarded in this way.
In April of last year, the Israeli Air Force, after introducing its own air defense systems, decommissioned Patriot systems, which had been in service for over 30 years.

It was reported that Ukrainian officials then approached the U.S. and Israel with a proposal to send those decommissioned capabilities to Ukraine following proper maintenance in the U.S.
For several months, Israel hesitated, fearing Russian countermeasures, including arms supplies to Iran.
However, in late September, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorsed the idea.
