Kuwait's 14Th Aid Plane Arrives In Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DAMASCUS, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- The 14th Kuwaiti relief aid plane arrived at Damascus International Airport on Tuesday carrying 40 tons of food and shelter supplies, organized by Al-Salam Association for Humanitarian and Charitable Works, as part of the humanitarian campaign "Kuwait is by Your Side."
The Kuwaiti air bridge to Syria total load is estimated at some 400 tons of various relief aid, with the participation of the health Ministry, Zakat House, Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Kuwait Relief, IICO, Islamic Heritage Revival Society, Namaa Charity, Najat Charity, Nouri Charity, Direct Aid, Patient Helping Fund Society, and Global Mercy.
Items like flour, dates, lentils and other foods that can be easily stored for long periods were sent, as well as blankets, heavy fabrics, gloves and winter supplies, in addition to sending wheelchairs for people with disabilities and ambulances to support the health sector there.
Kuwait will continue to send more relief aid to Syria according to a schedule determined by the Kuwaiti Air Force, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, which in turn distributes it to areas most in need. (end)
