(MENAFN) The Jordanian government has allocated 31.7 million dinars for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship's budget for 2025, with a significant portion—43%—devoted to the e-government program, which will receive 13.4 million dinars. This allocation is part of the broader effort to digitize all government services by the end of 2025.
The Ministry’s budget, as outlined in the draft general budget law, supports six primary programs: management and support services, Jordan Post, electronic initiatives, the national fiber optic network, e-government, and policies and strategy. Of the total 31.7 million dinars, 10.73 million is designated for current expenses and 20.93 million for capital expenditures.
While the budget reflects a minor decrease of less than 1% compared to the 2024 budget (31.9 million dinars), the Ministry remains focused on digitizing government services, having already digitized 60% of its 2,400 services. The key goals for 2025 include improving citizen services, creating a favorable investment climate, and fostering innovation through entrepreneurship.
The budget also highlights challenges, such as the migration of skilled workers, limited use of digital services, and the need for clearer digital economy laws, which may impact the Ministry’s progress in achieving its goals.
