(MENAFN) Video game producer Roblox stated on Monday that it is developing safety measures to stop users under the age of 13 from directly messaging others without parental permission.
Roblox, which recorded about 89 million users last quarter, stated it will permit parents and caregivers to remotely lead their child's Roblox profile, view friend lists, set spending controls, as well as manage screen time.
Roblox has experienced assumes of child mistreatment on its platform.
In August, Turkey stopped access to Roblox after a court request, since prosecutors investigated concerns regarding user-generated content potentially leading to mistreatment.
A 2022 lawsuit filed in San Francisco assumed that Roblox eased the sexual and financial exploitation of a California girl by adult men, apparently supporting her to drink, abuse prescription drugs, and post sexually explicit pictures.
The firm stated it has further presented a built-in setting that will allow users under the age of 13 access public broadcast messages only in games or experiences.
