President Tokayev Outlines Ambitious Plans For Agricultural Advancement In Kazakhstan
He outlined his vision for the future development of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex, noting the country's commitment to enhancing its role in the global food market.
"The agricultural sector is crucial for ensuring food security. Kazakhstan will continue to strengthen its position in the world food market," Tokayev stated. He expressed his gratitude to farmers for their hard work, particularly in light of the challenges posed by spring floods. Despite these obstacles, the country achieved a record harvest, collecting over 26 million tons of grain this year.
Tokayev highlighted that the significant support provided by the government has played a key role in achieving these results. "This year, the volume of preferential loans for the spring planting campaign increased threefold. Additional funds have been allocated for leasing agricultural machinery," he explained.
Looking ahead, the president announced ambitious plans for the agricultural sector, revealing that 865 projects are set to be implemented, with a total investment of 2.6 trillion tenge ($5.3 billion). This initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity and ensure that Kazakhstan continues to make substantial contributions to food security both domestically and internationally.
