BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. The media
representatives attended the assembly process of newly delivered
metro trains at the "Khojasan" depot (Khojasan station) in
Azerbaijan's Baku, Trend reports.
According to the report, 4 out of 7 new trains have arrived for
the Baku Metro.
Over the next three years, the Baku Metro will introduce 65
next-generation carriages, equivalent to 13 trains with 5 carriages
each. Seven of these trains, or 35 carriages, are set to be
delivered to Baku in 2024. Of the seven trains in the "81-765 B/766
B" series, two have already arrived in Baku.
The new trains are designed using the latest fourth-generation
technologies. The carriages, engineered and manufactured in Russia,
are being supplied according to the technical specifications set by
the Baku Metro CJSC. The technical conditions ensure that systems
and equipment for train management, operational technology, and
passenger comfort are incorporated.
In line with the concluded contract, the technical completion
and assembly of the cars will be finalized at the Khojasan depot of
the Baku Metro. To facilitate the procurement of new trains, Baku
Metro CJSC is focused on exploring the world's leading technologies
and their application in the production process. Additionally, the
technical specifications of the Baku Metro, the complex terrain,
and various factors tailored to the climatic conditions of the
capital are essential elements of the technical requirements. As
part of this initiative, 9 contracts have been signed with leading
European companies for the complete assembly of the cars, with
equipment and components procured and delivered to Baku.
The traction motors are manufactured in Austria, while toothed
clutches, batteries, pressure gauges, and inter-car bridges are
sourced from Germany. Driver controllers and dampers come from the
Czech Republic, trailers and semi-trailers from Poland, relays and
sockets from the Netherlands, and door mechanisms from Italy.
Furthermore, the assembly includes critical components such as
brake units and engine compressors, which are sourced from top
global manufacturers. Key features of the new trains include an
automatic adjustable microclimate control system, air disinfection
in the cabin using ultraviolet lamps, and a tubeless design that
enhances thermal insulation.
The head cars of the new trains are equipped with 38 seats,
while the middle cars offer 44 seats, creating improved conditions
for increasing passenger capacity. Overall, the head cars can
accommodate 315 passengers, and the middle cars can hold 329.
Direct passages between cars expand the passenger compartment by
15 percent, allowing for increased capacity and facilitating
smoother movement and even distribution of passengers throughout
the train, which is particularly beneficial for the Baku Metro.
