Uzbekistan, India Seal Bilateral Investment Treaty


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 28. Uzbekistan and India have signed a bilateral investment agreement, Trend reports.

According to the information, the document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of India Nirmala Sitharaman in the framework of the Uzbek-Indian business forum in Tashkent.

The agreement guarantees full utilization of all investment opportunities created in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek-Indian business forum was held in Tashkent on September 27 under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of India Nirmala Sitharaman.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov, heads of ministries and agencies, as well as about 100 heads of major companies of the two countries representing agriculture, textile production, construction materials, automotive industry, chemical industry, electrical industry, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, information technology, transportation, and logistics took part in the forum.

The forum also included B2B meetings, where representatives of the business circles of the two countries were able to discuss in detail with their counterparts plans for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
