Mygov Needs To Avoid Becoming Monopoly - Chairperson

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. It is crucial that the "mygov" platform does not turn into a monopoly, Chairperson of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under Azerbaijan's Ministry of transport and Digital Development Inara Valiyeva stated during the presentation of the updated e-government platform, Trend reports.

“Recently, the term 'sustainability' has become so ubiquitous that it is used by everyone, especially in these challenging times. But what does sustainability truly mean for us? In the context of constantly evolving technologies and needs, sustainability means the ability of a platform to adapt and function. When we started this project, our goal was to create a technological foundation that could work effectively in the future,” Valiyeva said.

She emphasized the need for "mygov" to avoid becoming a monopoly.

“It is important that citizens can access services on any platform that meets the necessary standards. For us, sustainability is not just about developing a platform dependent on the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, but about independent and long-term growth. Cooperation is the second key principle. The 'mygov' platform is just the visible tip of the iceberg,” Valiyeva highlighted.

Behind the project, she noted, are numerous government institutions and private companies that have contributed to its development, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and others.

“Without their support and cooperation, without creating a legislative framework and integrating their data and services into our platform, we could not have achieved what we have today. If these institutions had not facilitated document integration into 'mygov,' assisted with data cleansing, and system unification, we would not have been able to present today's results or ensure the level of convenience we are aiming for. This is the essence of our cooperation. Finally, I would like to reiterate the core principle - citizens are at the center of everything we do. When we started this journey, we saw that other countries were already advanced in digital innovations, and we started later. But this has its advantages: we were able to learn from the mistakes and shortcomings of others and adapt the best solutions for us. Since then, we have actively engaged with citizens to make the product truly user-friendly and effective for everyone,” she added.
