Azerbaijan Develops Ad Hoc Waste Action Strategy For Nation's Liberated Territories


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. A separate action plan has been developed concerning waste dumped in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, head of the sector of the Environmental Policy Division of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mehman Nabiyev said, Trend reports.

He made the remark at a public discussion on making necessary additions and amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Waste.”

According to him, a special commission on waste management in the territory of Azerbaijan, including the territories liberated from occupation, has been up and running since 2021.

“The largest waste is construction waste. At present, the processing of construction waste in the liberated territories is carried out by the private sector. This will be applied in all liberated territories in the future. This waste also poses a fire hazard. The management of waste in the liberated territories is entrusted to Temiz Sheher (Clean City),” he added.
