Azerbaijan's Karabakh University Sees Strong Start With First Student Enrollment


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. The first enrollment at Karabakh University, established in 2023, has been successful, the university states, Trend reports.

The university noted that the State Examination Center's admission plan for the undergraduate level in the 2024–2025 academic year is nearly full.

In the first group of six specialties, including mathematics teaching, electrical and Electronics engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, logistics and transportation technology, and mechatronics and robotics engineering, a total of 290 students were admitted. The average admission score for this group was 475.5, with the highest score of 659.9 recorded in mathematics teaching. Additionally, one applicant, a winner of the Olympiad, was admitted to electrical and electronics engineering without competition.

In the second group, which includes international trade and logistics, state and municipal management, economics, finance, management, accounting, and tourism organization, 330 students were admitted across seven specialties. The average admission score was 396.7, with the highest score of 641.7 achieved in finance. The passing score for finance was 500.5.

The third group, which covers teaching Azerbaijani language and literature, primary education, foreign language teaching (English), international relations, jurisprudence, and history, admitted 330 students across six specialties. The average admission score was 531.3, with the highest score of 683.8 in jurisprudence. The passing scores for law and foreign language teaching were 609.4 and 538.7, respectively.

In the fourth group, 30 students were admitted to the psychology specialty, with an average admission score of 470.0 and the highest score of 570.6.

Overall, out of 980 students admitted across the I-IV groups, the average admission score was 467.6.

In the fifth group, which required examinations to assess special abilities, 124 students were admitted to seven specialties, including music teaching (piano, cello, clarinet, tar, kamancha, saz, drum, accordion), arts and crafts (weaving, ceramics), design (interior design, graphic design), instrumental performance, and vocal art.

A grand total of 101 applicants made the cut with scores that were off the charts, soaring above the 600-point mark. In the first academic year, Karabakh University will offer 27 bachelor's specialties.
