BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. The inauguration
of the Azerbaijan House in the US on August 17 will be a momentous
occasion for the Azerbaijani Diaspora living there. The
commencement will be at Alexandria city, Virginia.
Now that Azerbaijan's Sovereignty has been fully restored and
the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict has ended, the role of the
Azerbaijani Diaspora abroad has changed dramatically. It is the
hope of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan that members of the
diaspora will achieve great success in their home countries.
“Currently, there are millions of Azerbaijanis living abroad. Of
course, they are citizens of the countries in which they live. I
want them to achieve even higher positions in their countries of
residence and to play a more active role in their social,
political, and economic lives,” President Ilham Aliyev stated at
the opening of the fourth Congress of World Azerbaijanis.
In order to improve the country's reputation abroad and to
encourage cross-sectoral collaboration in the fields of business,
public policy, science, and culture, an engaged diaspora is
essential. Public diplomacy like this can be just as effective as
more conventional forms of communication. When Azerbaijani expats
succeed in their host countries, they are expected to be active
participants in the social, cultural, and business arenas. Being
ambassadors for a prosperous nation inspires them to make a bigger
impact in the countries where they live. The State Committee on
Work with Diaspora has been tasked by President Aliyev with
addressing these challenges.
The persistent aggression of Armenian diaspora groups overseas,
especially in the United States, where the Armenian lobby has
historically had considerable influence, must be met by an equally
muscular Azerbaijani diaspora. Azerbaijan is still feeling the
effects of the terrible 907th Amendment, which was passed in the US
because of the efforts of the Armenian lobby.
Additionally, Azerbaijanis living in the US will also soon have

will be able to stay in touch and take advantage of better
integration chances in their host nations thanks to these websites.
